COMPETITION RULES
1. Competition dates and location:
29 to 30 June 2018 and 1 July at XIXERELLA PITCH & PUTT (ANDORRAN Country)
PRE-REGISTRATION TEAMS UNTIL MONDAY 30 APRIL
2. Participants:
A maximum of 36 four-player teams may participate.
A team may be made up of more than 4 players on condition that only 4 players may play in any one round.
3. Teams and Format of Play:
Teams will be formed of 4 players, playing in the following format:
- Round 1
One pair playing Fourball Medal Play Scratch; Two players playing Individual Medal Play Scratch - Round 2
One pair playing Fourball Medal Play Scratch; Two players playing Individual Medal Play Scratch - Round 3
One pair playing Fourball Medal Play Scratch; Two players playing Individual Medal Play Scratch
The result of each round will be calculated using the teams’ two best results. The worst result will be discounted and only used to separate teams in case of a tie. Except for a tie for first place which will be decided by a play-off.
4. Timetable:
FRIDAY 29 JUNE
10:00 to 20:00 Official practice day; 20:30 Teams presentations
SATURDAY 30 JUNE
09:30 First Round; 14:30 Second Round (first group) 12:00 First Round; 17:00 Second Round (second group)
SUNDAY 1 JULY
09:00 Third and Final Round (first group) 11:30 Third and Final Round (second group)
Given that for each round there will be two starting groups, for the rounds on Saturday, teams may request to play in either group. For the round on Sunday, the best placed teams will play in the second group.
14:30 Prize-giving Ceremony.
5. Categories:
There will be only one category of play and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places after the third round. Prizes will also be awarded for the best individual result and the best pairs result of the competition. If there is a tie for the best individual or pairs result it will be decided by the best result from the tied-players’ other rounds.
6. Registration Rights:
The registration fee shall be 280 euros per team.
The registration fee includes the training day, the three competition rounds, lunch on Saturday, snacks during the prize-giving and the commemorative polo shirt.
7. Notification of Teams:
Each team must inform the organizing committee of their team’s composition before each round.
It is obligatory that teams are formed only of players who have a player’s card of a member-organisation of FIPPA. Teams must be registered through the member associations of FIPPA, who will send notification to
The Andorran Pitch & Putt Association - AAPP. A total of 3 teams per Association will be guaranteed until Monday 30 April 2018. From then onwards, registration will be strictly by order of receipt of notification to the Andorran Pitch & Putt Association – AAPP. 8. Tie-Breaks:
In case of a tie for first place between two or more teams, on completion of the three competition rounds, the captain of each team shall select a player to play in a play-off in individual medal play format. The competition committee shall decide the itinerary of the play-off. In case of a tie for any of the rest of the positions, it shall be decided firstly in favour of the team with the best discounted result in the third round. Secondly, by the best discounted result in the second round. And thirdly, by the best discounted result in the first round.
